Bride and Groom … and us!

There was an unusual hitch to swift water rescue training for Serve On volunteers when they found themselves gatecrashing Tom and Mykilee Parsons’ wedding photos.

Serve On water instructor Jim escorts bride Mykilee Parsons and her new husband Tom.

The training session on the River Dart, near Ashburton, had gone swimmingly and the team were in the process of leaving the riverside when the bride and groom arrived at medieval Newbridge for some special pictures in the beautiful setting.

Knowing how slippery the steps up to the bridge were, chivalrous instructor Jim was keen to make sure bride Mykilee did not come a cropper and escorted her to the bridge.

Cue a lovely group photo with the happy couple and the Serve On squad.

There was more water training - but no wedding photos - the following day, when the Longford Estate kindly allowed our volunteers to train in the River Avon close to historic Longford Castle, near Salisbury.

The following weekend found Serve On members supporting the open day at Salisbury Hospital, alongside Wiltshire Police and Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Recue Service …and hosting their own open day for new recruits with another 20 volunteers keen to join the organisation.

The future looks bright…for Tom, Mykilee and Serve On.
